A textile designed to hold presence in a space — not just decorate it.
This hand-embroidered Otomi Cushion was created in Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo, where traditional embroidery continues to live through slow, intentional handwork. Every figure was first drawn directly onto the cotton fabric, then embroidered stitch by stitch using the traditional pata de gallo technique.
The result is a contemporary textile with deep Mexican roots — full of movement, texture, and quiet strength.
Created in collaboration with artisans from Hidalgo and curated by Casa Lanna Ha as a contemporary textile for intentional interiors.
Each cushion is later finished with handmade pompoms or contrasting piping, adding movement, texture, and a contemporary textile presence within the space.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Entirely handmade by Otomi artisans in Mexico using 100% cotton fabric and thread.
This piece took approximately 1 week to complete.
No printing.
No machines.
Only handwork built slowly over time.
The embroidery density and delicacy of each figure require a longer process, giving the textile its rich texture and refined finish.

To help protect the embroidery colors during washing, we recommend using color-catching sheets such as Shout Color Catcher.
Avoid hot water, as it may affect the textile dyes over time.

Every order is peresented in a personalized cotton gift bag, delicately scented and accompained by a Certificate of Authenticity celebrating the story of your handcrafted textile. Please tell us on a note at your check out the name you would like personalized on the tote bag. It may be your name or the recipient´s name if this is a gift. If left blanc, we´ll prepare your order with our standard Casa Lanna Ha presentation.
