Clothing as Object:
Custom cut clear velvet rod 31", sized to this exact piece. The rod passes through the neck opening of the huipil, giving a floating minimal presentation that respects the garment. Includes:
- Velvet wood rod, cut and finished to specification with 2 black brackets.
- Custom cotton canvas transport bag, tailored to this piece
- Install kit: wall anchors, level, and step-by-step instructions
- Signed Certificate of Authenticity, numbered as part of the Signature Collection
Weight: 24" over the bust area.
The manufacture of this pieces is the main characteristic of the proud town of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca (Mexico). Hand embroidered to honor their millenary tradition. With their peculiar iconography, their flowers are unmistakable with geometry patterns, that in those soils are embroided without repairing over time: it might take 3 or 4 months to finish the garment: a creation that empowers both who wears it and to whom produces it.
From the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, this gala blouse has been embroidered over fine velvet, in a very cropped large, used in civil and religious ceremonies, parties or weddings and are inhereted from generation to generatios.
Covered with red polka dots, and embroidered both sides. A very likely and original piece.
Any kind of taxes or duties which may apply during the transit of the courier to the final customers, must be covered by the client directly and won't be refunded by LANNA-HA.
CARE RECOMMENDATIONS:
ALL the garments and embroideries that you can see at the store are machine washable at home. The only thing you should care about is the soap (mainly reason why we don´t recommend sending them to the dry cleaner: the chemicals they use). The chemicals is what ruins the threads. So you have to look for a liquid soap for your machine washer that doesn’t have much chemics.
With machine washer you just have to use the quick or gentle cycle and you’ll be more than fine. One important thing is that NEVER NEVER NEVER use dryer. Heat damages threads and that’s the mainly reason for not using the dryer.
Machine washer nets also help. Machine washers with a new technology treats garment very good, so if yours is not that one we recommend the nets. For black, blue or red color threads we also recommend dye trapping sheets which you can throw them inside the washing machine and just forget about any problem with colors. You even can find there´s a lot of brands.
