This hand embroidered Otomí pillow cover is a traditional Mexican textile created in Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo, where each motif holds meaning beyond decoration.

CRAFTSMANSHIP 

Each piece is entirely handmade using 100% cotton fabric and thread.  The backing is velvet.

The design is first drawn directly onto the fabric and then embroidered stitch by stitch using the traditional Otomí technique known as “pata de gallo,” creating rich texture and depth.

This is not printed or machine-made — it is a slow, intentional process that results in a truly unique piece.
