From Frida Kahlo´s wardrobe, this is an accurate reproduction of her special garments done by the amazing artisans of Oaxaca (Mexico).

Women from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, wear this blouses as a tradition along several journeys of celebration.

Hand-embroided with an old machine, which means they move the piece by hand to create the patterns and they go back and forth, line by line, color by color, using silk threat and for the fabric they used velvet on the front, this beautiful and iconic blouse is almost a one-of-a-kind.

The same art work embroidered is same in the front and in the back as same as the original and as the usual works of this embroiderers.

CARE RECOMMENDATIONS:

ALL the garments and embroideries that you can see at the store are machine washable at home. The only thing you should care about is the soap (mainly reason why we don´t recommend sending them to the dry cleaner: the chemicals they use). The chemicals is what ruins the threads. So you have to look for a liquid soap for your machine washer that doesn’t have much chemics. We found out that the brand “Arm & Hammer” has few chemics if you can find it there. I use one in Mexico called Zote that has 2 ingredients so that’s very helpful. Now  if an accident happens we treat the stain as locally as possible and then we recommend to wash it normally with machine washer.

With machine washer you just have to use the quick or gentle cycle and you’ll be more than fine. One important thing is that NEVER NEVER NEVER use dryer. Heat damages threads and that’s the mainly reason for not using the dryer.

Machine washer nets also help. Machine washers with a new technology treats garment very good, so if yours is not that one we recommend the nets. For black, blue or red color  threads we also recommend dye trapping sheets which you can throw them inside the washing machine and just forget about any problem with colors. You even can find there´s a lot of brands.

Let me know if you have any other question.

Thanks,
