Handwoven in Mexico, this one-of-a-kind wool tapestry brings an unapologetic sense of presence to the room. Its sweeping forms, deep contrasts, and layered textures create a composition that feels almost alive — powerful, instinctive, and impossible to overlook.
Woven by hand on a traditional large loom and I startby transferring the image onto a cotton fabric to guide each image, then build each section of wool which is built into the surface to create dimension, movement, and tactile depth. The irregularity of the weave is part of the piece: no two areas behave exactly alike, and the changing light reveals new details throughout the day.
This is not wall decoration meant to disappear into a room. It is the piece that gives the room its energy.
Created as part of the Casa Lanna Ha Signature Collection, this tapestry brings contemporary Mexican textile art into an interior with confidence, color, and a strong sense of place.

Artist Statement
I am interested in the moment when textile moves beyond function and becomes presence.
This piece explores power through movement — through the tension between organic forms, saturated color, and the physical weight of handwoven wool. Rather than creating a fixed image, I allow the composition to unfold through gesture, texture, and instinct, letting each shape respond to the one beside it.
Woven by hand on a traditional loom, the work carries the evidence of its making. Variations in tension, texture, and form are not imperfections to be corrected; they are part of the language of the piece. Wool becomes line, volume, and movement.
My work brings a traditional Mexican textile practice into a contemporary visual language. I am not interested in reproducing the past. I am interested in what happens when its knowledge is allowed to evolve.
This tapestry was created to hold space — not quietly, but with intention. It is an invitation to live with art that has weight, character, and a sense of its own presence.
