Christian Embroidery Designs: A Story to Bring Mexico Home
Tzintzuntzan — 2 different designs: Nativity with Flowers and North Star. Each piece is sold separately.
Hand-embroidered in Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán, this piece depicts a Nativity scene surrounded by the flowers, colors, and everyday imagery of life in the region.
Rooted in the Purépecha territory of Lake Pátzcuaro, the embroidery brings together faith, landscape and community through the language of thread. The small figures, flowers, birds, trees, and vivid colors turn a traditional Christian scene into a distinctly Mexican expression.
This is not a generic Christmas decoration. It is a handmade textile that carries a sense of place—the way faith, family, nature, and tradition meet in the communities around the lake.
A richly detailed textile that functions as both folk narrative and contemporary wall art, preserving a glimpse of the cultural landscape of Tzintzuntzan through embroidery.

FOR THOSE WHO LEFT MEXICO BUT NEVER LEFT IT BEHIND.
This one-of-a-kind embroidery was handmade in Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo using traditional techniques passed through generations.
Each motif is first drawn directly onto cotton fabric and then embroidered stitch by stitch by hand using the traditional “pata de gallo” technique.
Created in collaboration with artisans from Hidalgo and curated by Casa Lanna Ha as a contemporary textile for intentional interiors.
Each textile is later altered with a fabric backing for wall hanging, transforming the piece from a traditional object into a contemporary presence within the home.
No printing. No machines.
Only thread, fabric and human hands.
